Why am I drawing dicks?

This is my gift to the Playa and residents of it. I aim to keep Burning Man weird and fun, and want you to experience something you can’t normally experience in the real world. Dick portraits are the perfect strange gift to offer.

Why don’t I offer to draw vulvas or other parts too?

I do! However, this project sits at the intersection of art and social commentary by challenging societal norms through intimate portraiture that celebrates the often-overlooked beauty of the male form (whether one identifies as male or not). Female nudity is often seen as "high art" even in museums, and similar artistic treatment of male bodies is comparatively rare or often treated less seriously, sometimes even straying into realms of comedy or vulgarity. This project aims to address this disparity.

By drawing dicks, this ongoing project creates an inclusive space where male bodies can be viewed through an artistic lens, fostering appreciation for all forms of human beauty. Each portrait serves as a gift to both the model and the broader Playa community, challenging preconceptions about gender, nudity, and artistic representation.

The project embraces Burning Man's principles of radical self-expression and immediacy, taking place in public spaces to normalize the human form in all its varieties. Models receive their portraits as keepsakes, carrying forward the message that all bodies deserve to be celebrated through art.

This is a non-sexual, body-positive artistic endeavor that seeks to expand our collective appreciation of human beauty beyond traditional gender-based constraints. In short, I will definitely draw your boobs, asses, and whatever else, but aim mostly for illustrations that further this small mission of mine!

How many dicks have I drawn?

In my lifetime? Probably thousands…such is the life of an artist. At Burning Man 2024, 23 people total asked me to draw their dick and got to take home a nice drawing. I’m hoping even more ask me in 2025!

How long does it take to draw?

I usually tell my models it takes about 3-5 minutes, depending on how much I need to draw (￣y▽￣)╭ lol

Is this a sexual thing?

Absolutely not. I don’t do this for the shock value, but rather to normalize and celebrate the human form. I often chat casually with my models about their Burn while I draw, and when I’m done they get a cool picture to take home, and hopefully feel a bit more accepted and liberated in society for being brave!

This sounds fun, but I’m too shy.

That’s ok. I’m shy as well. Most people have hesitation when approaching me, but I try to make it as relaxed and friendly as possible. Societal discomfort with nudity, especially male nudity, is deeply ingrained in today’s world and likely even your own brain, so uncertainty is expected! You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to, but I encourage you to help challenge these norms with me! It’s incredibly rewarding to watch a model’s hesitation transition to relaxation and sometimes even comfort over the course of a few minutes.

Isn’t there another guy who does this?

Yes, there is a talented person who also draws dicks, typically at San Francisco events like Dore Alley. I don’t know if they attend Burning Man and do this. Their Instagram is an awesome collection of art. I don’t know this person but I admire them afar.

How can I get my dick drawn?

You can find me at Black Rock City in 2025! I typically camp with Yes Please!, and am recognizable by the sign attached to my backpack, offering drawings.

I don’t offer this service outside of Burning Man.
